Ian Johnson
Partner, Director of Alternative Investments
Ian began his career in the financial service industry following a successful 12 year career in the fitness industry. During that time Ian managed and operated his own training company and fitness studios. His desire to serve and help clients in their financial journey is built on his years in the fitness industry challenging, serving and helping clients make healthy and quality decisions for their lives.
His time spent at previous financial firms guided him to continually search and study for the best strategies to provide his clients in the ever-changing landscape of finance. As an advisor, Ian's goal is to help guide clients by providing exemplary service, time and dedication to clients while they navigate their financial journey.
Ian enjoys living in Murphy, TX with his wife Heidi and his three children. Ian and his family are active members of Northplace church in Sachse Tx.
Jason Bright
Managing Partner, Director of Planning
As an alumnus of the Georgia Institute of Technology and a “recovering engineer," Jason is adept at breaking down complex problems into their most basic components and working systematically to solve them. By bringing a logical, rational approach to financial planning and advice, Jason aspires to help clients improve financial efficiency and maximize the utility of each dollar that comes into their hands, all with an eye toward stewardship and generosity.
Jason currently serves on the board of trustees for Family Promise of Gwinnett County. Jason, his wife Ana and their five children are longtime residents of Northeast GA where they are very active in their church, and community.
Matt Wojteczko
Implementation Specialist
Matt "Wojo" Wojteczko brings a wealth of valuable experience to Brightsmith Advisors, drawing from his background in nonprofit development, marketing, and project management. As an essential part of our team, Matt is dedicated to making sure every detail of our clients' financial plans comes to life smoothly. He’s the go-to person for putting sophisticated wealth management strategies into action, working closely with our advisors, clients, and our network of experts to ensure everything aligns perfectly. Matt takes care of all the moving pieces, making sure our process is as clear and easy as possible for you.
Matt lives in Hoschton, GA, and on the weekends you'll probably catch him on the sidelines coaching soccer or hanging out with his two boys.
Penelope Turnbow, ESQ
Chief Legal & Compliance Officer
Ms. Turnbow is an accomplished business attorney who has built a global network of law firms, accounting firms, tax advisers, risk management specialists and bankers which she relies on to deliver expert advice to our team. The foundation on which she has built success began with her career in corporate America. While at FedEx for 10 years as a senior attorney, she negotiated and closed over $4.5 billion in financing transactions and handled numerous high-profile domestic and international projects. At Thomas & Betts Corporation (now ABB), a global manufacturer, she advised the executive and senior management teams on all aspects of corporate, international, M&A and securities law affecting T&B’s operations and its more than 10,000 employees. She was part of T&B’s executive turnaround team and her effectiveness in addressing the challenges faced by T&B’s management resulted in her appointment by the company’s board of directors to several of its governance committees. Ms. Turnbow is an owner and chief legal & compliance officer of a SEC registered investment advisor. She also serves as special legal counsel to three small family offices. Ms. Turnbow received a Bachelor of Business Administration, cum laude, in economics and finance, a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis.
